Hi, friends. Today’s post is short and informal. And yes, the featured image shows water lilies on lily pads…teehee.

Reflecting on all my posts to this point, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished. I’ve grown personally and intellectually from writing my posts and reading others.

I will continue my literary, historical, and Christian posts because they challenge me. With that said, I’d like to try posting more casual posts sometimes–take some pressure off of myself and the reader.

When I say “casual,” I don’t mean “unstructured.” I refer more to subject matter/ time the post takes to write. Along with the “intellectual” posts I already write, I want to sprinkle in some less serious posts along the way (and avoid “burnout”).

To kick off the casual posts, here are five facts about me that are somehow relevant to my plan:

I use a wheelchair, but I’m also a gym rat with a personal trainer.

More info on my condition, Friedreich’s Ataxia, in Explaining a Misunderstanding About People in Wheelchairs. I can write future posts about general handicap things, exercising while disabled, the friendship between my trainer and me, etc.

I’m not a compulsive shopper or fashion fanatic, but I consider myself girly.

I won’t post “hauls” of clothes or makeup because I don’t like to or need to shop all the time (try browsing racks or just weaving between them in a chair lol), but I do have ideas for certain beauty and fashion related posts.

I drink coffee daily.

Perhaps during times when exciting things are happening in my life, I’ll write one of those posts like, “If We Were Having Coffee…”

I watch a metric ton of movies with my boyfriend.

I’ve avoided commenting on movies because I have no formal education on the subject; however, I’ve seen about fifty this year already. You may recall from The Love of Collecting, but my boyfriend is genuinely obsessed with them. I have a mini-series for movies in the works.

I’m…weird.

I assume I’m not the only blogger who feels “misunderstood” in real life *cue emo music*. I’m super reflective, bordering on obsessive; I might have a mild case of undiagnosed mental disorder like OCD. I might post random things about my thoughts and feelings in the future, hoping that readers can relate or add their two cents.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I always enjoy your posts, whether informative or challenging. But I anxiously await the ones about your style; you have a cute ( yet often unexpected) way of combining clothing and/or accessories. I guess one way to describe your look is “fresh”. 🙂

  2. I used to work at a psych hospital years ago. I always tried to bring humor with me to the place and to psych issues faced there. I made a lot of friends on the streets and met them in the hospital too.

Anyway, with that in mind, I used to tell people, “Frankly speaking, it was being Frank with people that got me stuck in here.”

You gotta be careful being frank.

And well, I say all of that so that I can say, both of me likes your blog. Thanx for sharing here. You bring service to this cyber-hood, You are an asset to my blog roll.

    God bless …

  4. Yay to all this! I personally like it when bloggers mix it up and share a bit every now and them about themselves. It is always nice to get to know the person behind the posts we enjoy so much 🙂 And I totally agree with you that it can tiring to write always the same kind of blogs, especially when they need to be researched and curated carefully. I look forward to your new content, especially those movie posts, which is something I love! I’m even jealous that you’ve watched 50+ movies so far this year. I can’t even remember the last time I watched a whole film which wasn’t for children in one go!

They keep me busy but time goes quickly, anyway. I can’t hardly believe my baby girl is turning three in May and that baby boy is already one. I better savour these busy days before they’re gone!
