Long time, no writing!
It seems that way because I haven’t blogged a lot this year. But in fact, I’ve spent at least an hour writing every day for a few months. I’m excited to share with everyone that I am writing a book!!
It will blend my “disability journey” with other stories from my life along with my personal brand of philosophizing/sharing nuggets of wisdom from this weird lil’ brain – basically, what I’ve done on Retrospective Lily for several years now. (BTW, my condition is called Friedreich’s Ataxia)
[Sidenote: The featured image for this post includes a cup of coffee, one plant and a journal with a pen. My actual setup is a desktop computer surrounded by 25 houseplants, and I am drinking coffee from a tumbler with a lid because FA makes me clumsy. Coincidentally, the plant in the photo is called a Marble Queen Pothos, and I have one on the left side of my keyboard.]
My unifying concept is “the keys to a joy-filled (or fulfilled – TBD) life.” What does it take to live a good life? Some ideas I’ve explored so far are creativity, courage, resilience, peace, openness, etc.
I’ve enjoyed asking people their answers, because it helps me brainstorm, so please leave your thoughts in the comment section.
I have about 20k words so far. Excited to see where am in a few months 🙂
Writing for this blog truly prepared me for this moment. I thank God for everything that led me here and for guiding me in a new venture.
I plan to start posting tidbits from the book, so stay tuned.
I covet your prayers, your encouragement, and most importantly, YOUR PRE-ORDERS! (Just kidding) Publishing advice is also welcome, as I am a first-time author.
